Today, I have heard the Flaming Lips' version of the absolute greatest rock album of all time. Yes, I am talking about The Dark Side of the Moon.
I cried the first time I heard this album, it was so beautiful. I own three shirts. I listen to this album in my head all the time. It is embedded in my brain's gray matter.
But the Flaming Lips? Don't get me wrong. I actually like their music (even though I haven't heard much of it). But their version, titled The Flaming Lips and Stardeath and White Dwarfs with Henry Rollins and Peaches Doing The Dark Side of the Moon, is an outrage! How could someone do something to this album? I thought I ruined it when I tried to sing along, but no-o-o, they had to ruin it by doing a cover and releasing it.
Yuck!
